Student in Almere
The artwork Student in Almere, created by Kasper Jongejan with an addition by Mik Augusteijn, decorates the facade of the Hospital Garage and reflects the voice of Almere students. In autumn 2024, Kasper visited more than ten MBO and HBO schools, including Windesheim, to gather input through conversations and creative sessions.
Students left their ideas on a large wooden cube in their school's auditorium. From these collected stories and drawings, Kasper distilled a common thread, which he translated into an impressive mural. The work starts on the left with clean, graphic shapes and subtly refers to his earlier work Camouflage. To the right, the shapes flow into more organic figures. The artwork is a visual story about birth, life and death.
