Hollands Licht
The Strip Heroes neighbourhood is Almere's easternmost extension. The 16 detached villas and semi-detached houses form Hollands Licht and are part of the special architecture. Placing the detached houses on the plots at an angle not only creates a rhythmic streetscape, but also gives the residents a lot of privacy. Inside, play has been made with level differences to enhance the view and the incidence of light.
The projecting part at the rear is clad in wood. The dock houses are divided into two rows. A public jetty has been built between these rows, giving each house its own mooring place. The living room offers unobstructed views of the water, as the gardens are a lot lower than the living level.
