Lumière Park
Lumière Park is located in the Filmwijk (Almere Stad), on the eastern bank of het Weerwater. Its name refers to Louis Lumière, a film pioneer.
What makes the park so nice: it feels like two parks in one. To the north, it is an open, urban park with rows of trees and meadows, with fine views over het Weerwater. To the south, it merges into a natural-looking wooded area.
Swimming, hiking and bridge spotting
Nearby is the Lumière beach, where a protected part of het Weerwater has been set up as swimming water.
There are also three specially designed bridges in the natural forest, and the digging of the city canal even placed the forest on a kind of island.

Part of Rondje Weerwater
A wide cycle and footpath runs through the park, which is part of (the route around) het Weerwater. Via the Weerwater bridge, Lumière Park is connected to the (former) Floriade grounds; the bridge has been permanently open and in use since autumn 2022.
