Villa Homerus is a striking feature on the edge of the Homer district. The building block was clad in light blue panels and surrounded by undulating balconies with white railings. The whole thing seems to swing. The secret is that the waves are different for each floor. Where the balcony protrudes further on one floor at the corner, it retreats again on the floor below. The waves on the side facades also do not run synchronously and the windows and doors are placed slightly differently on each floor. The ground floor recedes and is clad in wood. There are storerooms there. The entrance in between is plain. The five storeys that follow have five flats each. Layer six has three and the seventh floor has two penthouses. The block narrows there, ending with a cornice echoing the undulating balconies. The flats have underfloor heating and steel frames in the facades. The views are naturally generous, with the forest of Pampushout on one side, the gleaming IJmeer to the west and, at the foot, the many special villas built in the Homerus Quarter.
