De Zeebank is the eye-catcher of the park and acts as the first artwork of the Sea Green Carpet, a new art route stretching from the train station to het weerwater. The central theme of The Sea Green Carpet highlights Almere as a city rising from its former seabed.
In the heart of Almere Centrum stands the impressive seabank, a bench with a length of more than 110 metres, designed by LOLA and artist Jan van der Ploeg. This artwork, consisting of nine unique parts, forms a captivating link between the bustling Town Hall Square and the peaceful Weerwater. With its played and sinuous shape, de Zeebank invites everyone to enjoy relaxation and peace in an ideal spot in the park.
