Regional products from Almere

Local, sustainable and tasty - that's what Almere's regional products are. Why have wine and beer imported from abroad when you can buy them locally? That way, you not only support the locals, but also reduceCO2 emissions from transport. On this page, you will find some of the tastiest regional products from Almere.

Kemphane beer

At Stadslandgoed de Kemphaan in Almere, in addition to a petting farm, climbing forest and pancake restaurant, you will also find Stadsbrouwerij de Kemphaan. Here, the volunteers of Almeers Biergilde Gambrinus brew organic beers using traditional methods. The beers use locally grown ingredients as much as possible. Bring your friends for a tour of the brewery and a tasting in the tasting room. Of course, don't forget to take home one of those tasty Weerwater or Oeps beers.

Brouwerij Stijl

The labels on Brouwerij Stijl 's beer bottles are colourful works of art. The names of the beers are also nicely catchy: Almere Pale Ale, Dennentoppen Blond and Basterd Dubbel, for example. The brewers at the family-run brewery work with hops from their own hop garden and organically grown barley from the province. Residual streams from other entrepreneurs are used to make the brewing process circular. This makes the unique beers not only tasty, but also very responsible.

Ostrwldr wine

Do you prefer wine to beer? Then too, you can find your locally produced favourite drink in Almere. For example, enjoy a wine made from the grapes of the six hundred trees in the vineyard of Life Contains Beautiful Things (LCBT). The three grape varieties, Johanniter (white), Souvignier Gris (white) and Cabernet Cortis (blue), thrive on the clay soil and can handle some cold days just fine. In collaboration with the experts at Neerlands Wijnmakerij in Bentelo, the growers themselves make delicious wines such as the rotling named 'Look at Life through Rose-Coloured Glasses'.

Wine from Hof van Almere

The Almeerderhout nature reserve is home to another city vineyard, that of the Hof van Almere. In summer, you imagine yourself in a Moselle vineyard here, but surrounded by forest on the former seabed. The vines are on a ten-metre slope with a 30-degree angle, perfect for growth. In autumn, the harvest of the 1,500 vines is made into 1,500 bottles of rosé and white wine. Dreaming of owning a small vineyard yourself? You can lease vines here.

Almere opulence

Of course, Almeerse Weelde regional products consist of more than just beer and wine. Almeerse Weelde is an organisation of farmers and Almere residents who make products from local ingredients in an artisanal way. Think: jam, pesto, cake, mustard, etc. It is a true collaboration, with participants sharing machinery and raw materials. Want to experience what it's like to be part of this fine group of people? Join them for wild picking, take part in a jam-making workshop or learn about preserving seasonal produce. You will find local produce at Stadsboerderij's weekly organic farmers' market at De Kemphaan.
