Dive into nature
Do the kids like watching Freek Vonk on television? Then be sure to take them on safari in the Oostvaardersplassen. Climb to the crow's nest at Natuurbelevingcentrum De Oostvaarders and use binoculars to spot wild cattle, horses, deer or foxes. Then follow one of the marked hiking trails of 1 to 3 kilometres or take a bike ride on the paved paths.
At Stadslandgoed de Kemphaan, you can also enjoy the outdoors. The estate is located in the middle of Almere's woods and there is plenty to do here. Follow the Sensory Path, play in the Zuiderzee Speelbos or play a game of Discgolf ('golf' with a frisbee). Admire the animals in Dierenpark Almere Jungle, where you will find many species of animals, birds and plants, or take a look at the Stichting Aap.
Are you hungry after an active day? Then you can eat at Restaurant Buitengewoon Lekker or the Kemphaan Family and Pancake Restaurant on the Stadslandgoed. You can easily spend a whole day at the Kemphaan. Still not done playing? Stay a night on the estate at Natuurcamping de Kemphaan!

Survival of the fittest
Do your children like a challenge? Then you should head to the adventurous Outdoor Park SEC. Learn to shoot with a bow and arrow, play farmers' golf or take part in an adapted version of Expedition Robinson. All the activities organised in the Almeerderhout forestry park will keep you busy for a while.
Those who are not afraid of heights clamber up the tree at Klimpark Fun Forest. Choose one of the five climbing courses to suit your level and take on the adventure. Balance on slack lines, race across the water on a zipline or swing from platform to platform on a rope. For young children, there is a lower and more accessible course where parents can walk along on the ground.

On or in the water
Water fun always does well with the kids. Almere is surrounded by water. That's why there are so many water sports options for the whole family. An activity on the water is a must! Hire a canoe or a SUP-board or take sailing lessons at Sail-Today. Enjoy a cruise through the nature parks, city canals, over the vast lakes and along the skyline of Almere in an electric sloop of, for example, the Captain. Daredevils of course come wakeboarding or water-skiing at Cablepark VIEW Almere.
On a summer day, you naturally lay down your towels on one of the many city beaches in Almere. Strandbad Duin is especially popular with families. Jump into the water from the platform, have fun on the raft and play on the adventure playground.

Active outings for when it rains
No need to get bored on a rainy day either! Play pinball, virtual car racing or miniature basketball at The Game Box, Almere's most child-friendly arcade. Do your best to win as many tickets as possible! When you leave, you can exchange them for fun prizes.
Are your kids bouncing with energy? Let them jump at Jumping Jack. In the urban trampoline hall, show off your best jumping skills and dive into a tub full of foam blocks. Sign the kids up for a freestyle lesson and see how they do it before you give it a go yourself. Are you done jumping? You can also play glow in the dark golf at Jumping Jack or replenish the burnt energy with some goodies in the café.
Fun guaranteed at Bowling Almere. With 24 lanes, this is one of the largest bowling halls in the Netherlands. Who will throw the most strikes and go home the winner?
