Het Weerwater

Almere is a water city with het Weerwater as its most popular recreational lake. Located on the outskirts of Almere Stad, Het Weerwater was created by sand excavation for Almere Haven. het Weerwater offers several recreational facilities, such as the Stedenwijkstrand, Atlantisstrand, Fantasiestrand and Lumiérestrand, which are located on het Weerwater.

Weerwater, or rather weather-water is the central recreational lake in the heart of Almere, close to approach roads to the city and close to amenities such as hotels, theatre, marinas and several inner-city squares and parks. Het Weerwater is 600 metres wide.

At several recreation providers, it is possible to rent canoes and boats to go on het Weerwater. From het Weerwater, you have a beautiful view of Almere's skyline. Located next to the Fantasiestrand is a Kabel Waterskibaan, which allows you to waterski across Het Weerwater.
