KNOWN & TO KNOW brings together two generations of choreographers in one dynamic evening.
Queens by Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten sets the tone; Sedrig Verwoert’s new work, The VOID, for ICK-Next (ICK’s junior company) follows on from this with its own pace, energy and vision.
Queens challenges the audience with physical and musical disruption. Iconic pieces of music – ‘Under Pressure’, ‘The Sound of Silence’, ‘Wuthering Heights’ and the Queen of the Night aria from Mozart’s *Die Zauberflöte* – are more than just a comforting embrace of collective memory here: they become forces that put the body under pressure.
Queens bears the unmistakable signature of Greco and Scholten: the body thinks, tension breaks open the surface, and it is precisely there that a smile emerges: liberating or unmasking.

Next up is the new work *The VOID* by Sedrig Verwoert for ICK-Next. Verwoert sees choreography as a form of research and ritual. Dance and visual art come together, and every movement takes on meaning through focus and precision.
The dancers move as a single collective, creating slowly shifting patterns, as if the dance were following its own logic. The energy is vivid, at times hypnotic, at times confrontational. The result is an intense experience that touches on ritual, togetherness and trance. With The VOID, ICK-Next demonstrates how dance moves between theatre, museums and other live settings.
