Make your own talisman with Carmen Schabracq
Carmen is the creator of Moder Aelmeere, the two-tailed mermaid from our exhibition Uit het niets.
The evening starts with a short tour of the exhibition and an introduction to her work. Carmen talks about the ideas behind her mermaid and shows how talismans are used in different cultures.
Afterwards, you will get to work yourself. Using textiles and various materials, you will make a small doll: your own talisman. An object that can mean something to you or to the place around you.
