Drawing and painting lessons on Saturdays – Advanced pupils (aged 11–18) by LNA

Please note:

*This is a specialised class for pupils with an advanced level of drawing, or for those who wish to develop their technical skills more seriously. Beginners can find more information on our website and register directly for the class of their choice.

Our advanced classes are designed to support and challenge pupils with some drawing experience, enabling them to further develop their creative skills.

Each lesson focuses on refining the basic skills of drawing using pencil techniques, before moving on to more advanced painting materials such as watercolour, acrylic paint or gouache.

A drawing lesson lasts 1 hour and takes place weekly, with 3 to 5 lessons per month, depending on the calendar (excluding public holidays).

Every month, during the second week, we hold a Creative Week, during which pupils explore the techniques of a famous artist. They learn new skills, experiment with different styles and create unique works of art, inspired by artists from all over the world.

At the end of each term, pupils complete a small final project to demonstrate what they have learnt. The top three pupils in each class receive a prize.

We also organise an annual Pupils’ Exhibition in May to mark International Children’s Day.

Important update: enrolment and payment
From August 2026, pupils will enrol on a termly basis (3 months per term) to ensure consistent creative development. Each term comprises one lesson per week, in line with the Dutch school holidays (excluding public holidays).

The monthly fee is €50 and is paid by direct debit. The monthly fee remains the same, regardless of the number of lessons in a given month.

Cancellation: If you do not wish to continue in the next term, please cancel by email before the 7th day of the last month of your current term. This will allow us to process your request and offer the place to a student on the waiting list.

Special offer: Is your child already enrolled with LNA and would they like to take a second or third lesson? If so, you’ll receive a 10% monthly discount on each additional lesson.

We advise parents to read our FAQ page before registering their child.

Would you like to sign up for a taster lesson? Please complete the online form below:

We will contact you as soon as possible via the email address you have provided. You will receive a payment link (€12 for the taster lesson) to complete your registration and confirm your child’s attendance. Please note: your child’s place is only guaranteed once payment has been received.

If there is a place available on the chosen day, your child can start straight away. If not, your child will be placed on the waiting list and we will let you know as soon as a place becomes available.

Is your child interested, but are financial circumstances a barrier? If so, we can help you apply for a grant from the Almere Youth Fund for Sport & Culture (if you are eligible), so that your child can still take part in the lessons.
