Mokum Choir in Almere
Peter Batenburg, the well-known Amsterdam accordionist, together with Rob and Rina Heesters, was the initiator and founder of the Mokum in Almere Choir in 2013. What began as a labour of love has since grown into an institution that is now an integral part of the local scene: the Mokum in Almere Choir. What makes this choir so special is the close bond between its members. It is a warm-hearted group of people who meet every week, united by one great shared passion: a love of Amsterdam music.
It was clear that this passion had not gone unnoticed when the choir was crowned the winner of the Choir Battle in 2025. A fantastic crowning glory for their work!
