Elias De Bruyne | De Coproducers – One Night with Elias
Drum roll… A door opens, a spotlight comes on and an actor takes to the stage. A laugh track kicks in. And there he is at last. With nothing more than a microphone, a stool and a glass of water, Elias begins his very first comedy night.
At least, that was the plan. But the trouble starts right from the moment he enters the stage: Elias gets tangled up in an endless series of curtains and drapes before he has even reached the audience. And when he finally makes it onto the stage, reality proves to be more uncooperative than the dream.
‘One Night with Elias’ is an intimate solo performance that peels back, layer by layer, what it means to ‘be’. It’s not a comedy. It’s not stand-up. But it bears such a striking resemblance to both that it might well be.
