Almere, the youngest city in the Netherlands. A city where Muslims have been part of the local community right from the very beginning. This unique history makes Almere special. What role do Muslims play in the neighbourhoods and districts? How are their culture and the Islamic faith reflected in the city’s DNA? In this exhibition, thirteen Muslims from Almere explore the city’s Muslim heritage.
In this exhibition, thirteen Muslims from Almere explore the city’s Muslim heritage. They take you on a journey of discovery past their favourite places, such as mosques, parks and eateries. Together, they tell the story of the Muslims of Almere and what makes Almere their home.
