In Almere Poort, a new district between Almere Stad and IJburg/Amsterdam, alderman Adri Duivesteijn strikes the first pile of the 'Dromenrijk' project in the Homeruskwartier.
On the political front, Almere has a first: the Political Market will be launched in the same year. Almost every Thursday evening, the city council will meet in the town hall. Residents can come and get or bring information during the Political Market. In addition, the meetings can be followed live on the internet or watched back at another time.
