Goede Rede street art
Almere Haven is Almere's oldest neighbourhood. The first houses were completed in 1976. At the time, cauliflower neighbourhoods were visibly popular with urban planners: lay down some winding ring roads and fill the remaining space with a maze of residential yards. The first church in Almere Haven was named Goede Rede (Good Reason), referring to a safe haven found in a Bible text from Acts 27:8. The 2004 mural was also given that theme. The artists are Nina and Aleksandra Fedyushkina, two sisters from Dmitrov in Russia (near Moscow), with whom Almere has good ties.
