Kop Zuid I, an ensemble of four residential buildings called De Boei (57 flats), Catamaran (48 flats), Het Anker (26 flats), and Het Baken (59 flats), is freely arranged along the main road. They are finished in white, sand and brown brick colours, the palette of Duin. The differences between social rent, freehold and owner-occupied flats are evident in the floor plans and the size of the balconies. The location at the edge of the neighbourhood offers every resident a view of the IJmeer, with Amsterdam on the other side. It is the prelude to the larger-scale section known as Kop Zuid II. Kop Zuid II consists of San Francisco (84 flats), Valencia (58 flats), Sydney (107 flats), Cape Town (88 flats), the Duinhal (7000 m² of commercial space) and Havana (68 flats). Together, they form the unique skyline of Almere Duin. San Francisco is a residential tower located in the bustling heart of Duin. Its shell-white colour makes it one with the sparkle of the water and the clarity of the dune sand. Here you live spaciously, in a luxurious flat with a large terrace with sweeping views of the Randstad on the other side. Metropolitanism in a natural setting. Amid offices, shops, restaurants and a large supermarket, the motto 'Life on the beach' is fulfilled here.
