Vrouwvriendelijk wonen

In the 1980s (of the last century), Luzia Hartsuyker-Curjel started working on alternative, women-friendly housing as a response to traditional housing structures. She had an eye for alternative cohabitation patterns, where the floor plan expressed equality. This is expressed in equally sized rooms, all with equal access to the kitchen and bathroom. For the Buitenexpositie in 1990, she designed ten premium C houses in two floors. Hartsuyker combined a loft at the back with tall windows at the front to allow light to penetrate everywhere in the house: the sun trap. With an eye for detail, she disguised a radiator as the void's fence.
