The clients wanted a detached house that would be light, spacious and future-proof. Together with the architect, they arrived at a traditional house type with a gable roof and facades that are glazed along the entire length. The closed roof incorporates a single skylight, which in turn forms the roof of a greenhouse-shaped house, the house within the house. Here, in the heart of the house, the plant collection flourishes and nature is literally brought inside. On the upper floor, a guest room was created. In order to make the house adaptable for life, the bedroom, bathroom and study had to be located on the ground floor. These were placed on the garden side and these rooms merge into each other without thresholds. The closed end walls have been developed into showpieces that close off the glass facades. Parallel to an end wall is a simple kitchen unit, matching the functional kitchen. A long tree table forms the place for meals and good conversations. On the outside, transverse underlays give the house air, and with both a veranda on the entrance and garden façade, the living space is easily enlarged. The organically landscaped garden softens the hard lines of the house.
