Fashion illustration (ages 11–16) at LNA

Do you love fashion, drawing and bringing your own ideas to life? This course has been designed for creative teenagers who want to improve their illustration skills and discover how fashion designers bring their ideas to life on paper.

Throughout the year, pupils explore the world of fashion illustration through monthly themes. Each module covers a different topic, such as drawing fashion figures, clothing, fabrics and textures, the use of colour, styling, collections and creative design projects.

Each module has its own learning objectives and results in a finished piece of artwork. This means that new pupils can join at any time during the year without falling behind.

By the end of the course, pupils will be able to:

• Create professional-looking fashion illustrations.
• Drawing fashion figures with a focus on proportions and movement.
• Discover different clothing styles, fabrics, colours and textures.
• Design your own fashion concepts and small collections.
• To help them develop greater self-confidence in expressing their creativity through design.
• Build a portfolio of fashion illustrations and design projects.

For whom is this course intended?

This course is aimed at pupils who already have basic drawing skills and feel comfortable sketching people and objects. Fashion illustration is a specialised art form that builds on fundamental drawing techniques.

Pupils who are new to drawing or are still developing their basic skills are encouraged to take the Drawing Course first before starting Fashion Illustration. This will help them build the confidence and foundations needed to get the most out of this course.

Registration

Pupils enrol on a termly basis, so that they can develop fully within each term.

About the instructor

Irina Krutasova is a professional fashion designer with over 10 years’ experience in couture and historical costume design. With her calm and approachable teaching style, she runs sewing and design workshops that combine creativity and precision.

Irina is passionate about her work and loves teaching at LNA. She creates a supportive environment in which students can develop, experiment and express their creativity.
