Guided tour

Bee talks

You hear it more and more often: the bee is not doing well. Fortunately, attention is also growing for the importance of these indispensable insects. Bees play a crucial role in nature - as much as 80% of our edible crops depend on their pollination!

At Stad & Natuur, we don't just want to create awareness, but also stir up enthusiasm for the bee. That is why we organise the annual Bee Talks - educational and fun afternoons for young and old! In addition, on these afternoons you can also roll a beeswax candle for a fee (1 strip from Stad & Natuur or €2.50).

When.

Wednesday 20 August from 14-15 hours

What to expect? During the Bee Talks, volunteers from Stad & Natuur talk passionately about the life of the bee:

How is honey actually made?

How many flights do bees have to make for one jar of honey?

You will also learn why more and more people with hay fever choose local honey: it contains traces of the pollen from the surrounding area, which can help reduce symptoms - a natural form of immunotherapy!

Honey and bee products As long as stocks last, honey is on sale (maximum 2 jars per family). You pay €4.95 for 250 grams and €7.95 for 450 grams.
