Challenge Almere-Amsterdam is not only the largest and oldest triathlon in the Netherlands, but also one of the most popular. This year, the event celebrates its 45th anniversary with a special addition: the brand new Challenge Almere-Amsterdam Marathon. This marathon makes the anniversary extra special and offers runners a unique opportunity to be part of the event's rich sporting history.
During the anniversary edition, the European Long Distance Championship (3.8 kilometres of swimming, 180 kilometres of cycling and 42.2 kilometres of running) will take place again. There are also several popular side events on the programme, such as the Middle Distance, Junior Challenge and the RABO Business Relay. In the second weekend of September, Almere breathes triathlon, with some 4,000 participants each year and plenty of sporting experience along the course....
