Mediha, a teenage girl from the Yazidi community, turns her camera on herself to process her trauma after her escape from IS captivity. As she bravely faces her past, she and her younger brothers, Ghazwan and Adnan, try to rebuild their lives despite the uncertainty about the fate of their father, mother and baby brother. Eight years after the genocide, rescue efforts are still hampered by both local and international complications. The three children depend on a network of rescuers in their search for their missing relatives. Over a three-year period, with footage shot in Iraq, Turkey and Syria, the film highlights Mediha's extraordinary resilience. Through her personal video diaries, she confronts her trauma and pain and launches her own investigation into her captors. Mediha is a story of courage and perseverance, in which a young girl determinedly seeks her way to justice and healing.
