Favourites 2025: The Salt Path

The Salt Path is the film adaptation of Raynor Winn's bestseller of the same name, starring Gillian Anderson (The X Files, Sex Education, 'The Crown) and Jason Isaacs (The Death of Stalin, The White Lotus). To be seen from Thursday 1 May.

Couple Raynor and Moth Winn find themselves in the autumn of their lives when they unexpectedly lose their home and Moth finds out he is seriously ill. Together, the couple make the brave decision to walk the ancient South West Coast Path, hoping that the challenging trek and English nature can offer them solace. With a deflated bank account, a tent and the bare minimum of essentials, they embark determinedly on an extraordinary journey of more than a thousand kilometres. This inspiring, true story is about the meaning of feeling at home, coping with grief and the healing power of nature.
