Spectacle of knights on the beach

Squire for a day - Experience the Middle Ages at Almeerderstrand! Are you ready for a tough medieval adventure? On Sunday 7 September, from 12.00 to 16.00, at Almeerderstrand in Almere, you can experience for yourself what it is like to be a squire - a real knight in training!

Together with Knight Red Roderick, you will learn the tricks of the knight's trade. Practise sword fighting, archery, ball throwing, ring stabbing on a wooden horse and discover how heavy real armour is during the weapons lesson!

And that's not all... Today, the knightly Lady Petronilla is also coming to Almere especially! She will give a spectacular demonstration of fire eating and fencing. Note: this is for professionals only - so don't try it yourself!

An unforgettable afternoon full of action, history and fun for the whole family. Participation is free and there is no need to register.

This activity takes place at Stad & Natuur's new building on Almeerderstrand: Strand Poort. You will find Strand Poort next to beach restaurant Poortdok. From the car park, follow the concrete walkway across the beach.
