The Garden of Earthly Delights
The Garden of Earthly Delight is the first feature-length film by Morgan Knibbe, who previously drew attention with the dramatised documentary Those Who Feel the Fire Burning.
In the slums of Manila, 11-year-old Ginto tries to survive the harsh reality. Ignoring his sister's concerns, he gravitates towards drugs and gang life. Meanwhile, Dutch tourist Michael arrives to meet his Filipino online girlfriend, but his world collapses when he finds out he has been cheated. In sackcloth and ashes, he descends into the darker parts of the city, where a sinister set of supply and demand takes place. As Ginto struggles with his blossoming sexuality and identity, his path crosses with Michael's.
