The beautiful French costume drama Le Comte de Monte-Cristo is based on the novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas and has already received several awards, including two Césars recently. In France alone, the film has attracted over 9 million viewers, and internationally it is also one of the best-attended French films of 2024.
Young Edmond Dantès, victim of a conspiracy, is arrested on his wedding day for a crime he did not commit. After 14 years of imprisonment at the Château d'If, he manages to escape. He travels to the island of Montecristo where he finds a great treasure. Edmond then decides to return home, as the Count of Monte-Cristo, to take revenge on the three men who betrayed him.
