On 21 March 2026, the festive Almere premiere will be heard in the Levend Water Kerk in Almere Parkwijk, framed by a colourful and varied programme for choir and guitar orchestra: including Benjamin Britten, Hubert Parry, Gabriel Fauré, John Rutter, Bach, Philip Houghton, Morten Lauridsen, and Paul McCartney.

Two ensembles join forces in a unique musical project. Chamber Choir the Schütz Ensemble conducted by Jelle Leistra and Guitar Orchestra Guitarrísimo conducted by Peter Constant take you on a musical journey across sea and land, with the impressive diptych Tales of Wind and Sail at its beating heart. The rich sounds of the Schütz Ensemble and the warm, layered guitar sound of Guitarrísimo fuse into a musical narrative. With the collaboration of soloist Marion Schaap (octave guitar), young professionals Marlou Stift and Ilse Hoekstra (guitar) and young percussion talent Sybren Schaake (Royal Conservatoire). Tales of Wind and Sail was written especially for Almere by Australian composer Richard Charlton in 2021. In doing so, he wrote an ode to the sea, the wind, freedom and human decisiveness.
