World Jazz Stars with the Scott Hamilton Quartet

The American tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton and the Rein de Graaff Trio (pianist Rein de Graaff, bassist Marius Beets and drummer Eric Ineke) are regular musical companions. Their collaboration has previously resulted in, amongst other things, the live recording *Live At The Jazzroom*.

Whilst many of his contemporaries in the 1970s were drawn to free jazz or fusion, Hamilton sought his inspiration instead in the swing and bebop of the 1930s to 1950s. His warm tenor sound follows in the tradition of Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins and Zoot Sims. Pianist Rein de Graaff and his trio have accompanied dozens of American jazz legends.

According to The Guardian, saxophonist Scott Hamilton embodies the timeless essence of jazz. With his warm tenor sound and compelling style – partly shaped by trumpeter Roy Eldridge – he became a fixture on the international stage, where he performed alongside legends such as Ella Fitzgerald and Benny Goodman.

This evening, he will be performing top-class, pure straight-ahead jazz, alongside the cream of the Dutch jazz scene: Rein de Graaff on piano, Marius Beets on double bass and Eric Ineke on drums. A unique opportunity to experience jazz in its most authentic and vibrant form.
