Course overview
Welcome to our interactive course designed to improve Dutch language skills. We focus on helping children speak Dutch with ease and master everyday Dutch, without resorting to strict, traditional school methods. Instead, we use a creative approach in which children expand their vocabulary, discover the meanings of words and build greater confidence in social situations at their own pace and level, through stories and art.

What do the pupils learn and do?
- Speaking every day (Have a go at speaking): Learning to have conversations with friends and family and share personal highlights from the week.
- Visual and active listening: Listening to engaging stories and written texts, and drawing scenes, characters or objects to transform their understanding into art.
- Creative vocabulary building: Discovering fun rhyming words, words with the same meaning, words with multiple meanings and regional dialects.
- The mysterious ‘Vocabulary Box’: Children can anonymously put difficult words they have heard during the week into the box. These words are then explained and practised together in class.
How is progress monitored?
To maintain a stimulating and positive learning environment, there are no formal tests. Progress is assessed solely through active participation in lessons and creative engagement. No formal homework is set; we simply encourage children to keep an eye out for fun ‘mystery words’ in their daily lives.
