Zomer in Haven – Carillon performance and tower climb

Once again this summer, the carillon of the Goede Redetoren will ring out over Almere Haven. On Wednesdays and Fridays, city carillonneurs Gerda Peters and Bauke Reitsma will give live performances on the carillon. A listening area has been set up around the tower where visitors can enjoy the music in peace and quiet. During some performances, a screen will also show how the carillonneur plays the instrument.

On Wednesday 26 August and Wednesday 2 September, there will also be an Open Tower event. Visitors can climb the tower, view the carillon up close and hear the carillonneur explain the instrument and the role of a city carillonneur. The tower will be open before and after the carillon performance.

The activities are organised by the City of Almere’s carillonneurs, Gerda Peters and Bauke Reitsma, in collaboration with the Almere Carillons Foundation. The foundation is committed to making carillon culture visible and accessible, including through a listening area and a screen on which the performance can be followed live.
