National Organ Day and Open Monuments Day 2026

The carillon will be playing, and there will be wonderful organ concerts by Hannes Minnaar and Aart Bergwerff, featuring Santiago Cimadevilla (bandoneon). The historic church will be open to visitors all day long, in all its glory! Free admission.

Programme notes

Goede Rede is not only a church building but also a municipal monument. Its listed status covers the church, the organ, the tower and the carillon. During National Organ Day and Open Monument Day, you are very welcome to explore the building at your leisure or take part in a guided tour. Discover the church nave, the chapel of silence and the French Baroque organ by Verschueren, dating from 1979.

Open Monument Day will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026. This year’s national theme is ‘Resilient heritage in times of uncertainty’. This highlights the way in which monuments have been preserved over the years and have adapted to changing times.

Today is also National Organ Day. As part of the celebrations, two organ concerts will be held, featuring organists Hannes Minnaar and Aart Bergwerff. The latter will be performing alongside Santiago Cimadevilla on the bandoneon. The programme will be announced at a later date.
