In *Family*, theatre maker Louis Janssens brings together four performers from different generations. Through stories, questions and moments of silence, they seek comfort, recognition and a sense of connection in one another. The result is an intimate and poetic performance about the people who shape us, whether we choose to let them or not.
Family is about how family ties bind us together – about family by blood, but also about chosen family. From a queer perspective, they tell a broader human story about having and searching for a family. Not everyone has children, but ultimately we are all children.

In recent years, Louis Janssens has created the solo performance *Serenade* (#nieuwjong Het TheaterFestival 2021), the duet *Analoog* with Willem de Wolf (Het TheaterFestival and Nederlands Theaterfestival 2023) and *Desire* (Het TheaterFestival 2024). He is now creating the production *Family* together with an intergenerational queer cast comprising Peter Seynaeve (NTGent, Het Zuidelijk Toneel), Maureen Teeuwen (Maatschappij Discordia, mugmetdegoudentand), Mourad Baaiz (Artemis/hetpaleis/Het Zuidelijk Toneel, Schauspielhaus Bochum) and Francis Geeraert (Compagnie Barbarie).
