It’s New Year’s Eve and the tension is palpable. A young woman is about to set her house on fire. On the other end of the line, the helpline is ringing. Lighter in her hand, hold music in her ears.
In *History of an Accident*, the debut production by Orkater/De Nieuwkomers PATROON, listening takes centre stage. With polyphonic harmonies, minimalist bass lines and slowly unravelling compositions, PATROON paints an intimate portrait of someone desperately trying to make contact, but always in vain. A performance about those fragile moments when words fall short, and how music is sometimes the only thing that can say something.
