MEAU has managed to secure a special place in the music landscape. Her debut album '22' was awarded an Edison: "MEAU has made a very personal and intensely empathetic album. Songs about love, searching for yourself, being confused or leaving chaos behind and feeling free. A beautiful reflection of the life of a young adult in this day and age, wrapped up in strong songs. She shows with this album to be a singer-songwriter and pop artist of a high level," the jury said.

With 'Stukje Van Mij', MEAU scored her fourth Top40 hit and managed to make a huge social impact. The release on the sensitive subject of 'online shaming' even led to talks in the Dutch Parliament, international media attention and a teaching package for schools.

Her songs are sensitive, danceable, dreamy and catchy at the same time. MEAU has been making music since she could walk and was also in the spotlight early on, in the choir of Kinderen voor Kinderen. After that, MEAU developed quickly: she did the pop/rock course at the Herman Brood academy and focused on writing Dutch-language songs, inspired by artists such as Eefje de Visser, Sasha Alex Sloan and Holly Humberstone.
