Burden by Gaston Pierpont (9 min)

'BURDEN' is about a grandson who had a bond with his grandmother. Now that she is no longer here, everything he does he thinks of conversations they had, arguments they had, sweet things they did, grandma's complaining, but most of all her warnings and prohibitions.

Normal Citizens of Suriname by Morena Leter (20 min)

Normal Citizens of Suriname is an intimate docuseries focusing on stories of ordinary Surinamese citizens. Each episode is a portrait of one Surinamese, captured during a day full of meaningful moments.

Episode 1 revolves around Dennis Baarn. As we follow him during his daily activities, he takes us into his thoughts. Musing, he talks about his childhood, the people of the past and how his life is arranged now.

Who is Dennis Baarn? What does Suriname mean to him? What does he hope to leave behind when he's gone? In this first episode, we get to see answers, and perhaps a bit of ourselves.
