On Sunday 6 July, an afternoon for young and old will be organised by Stad en Natuur and Staatsbosbeheer at the location "de Oostvaarders" in cooperation with Sterrenwacht Almere observatory. Depending on the weather, you can look at the sun with a solar telescope, a telescope with special strong filters. With some luck, you will then see solar flares and sunspots. And no, this is not dangerous. The filters used ensure that your eyes are well protected.

If the weather is bad, The Observatory makes sure there are some telescopes inside. Then they can explain how they work.

Want to know how to take photos of, say, the moon yourself? Then you've come to the right place. And if you own a telescope but don't know how it works, they will be happy to help you get started. And do you have questions about the solar system, stars and nebulae? Then come, of course, to one of the short lectures they will give on the theme "The universe, what are you actually looking at".

In short, it will be a fun Sunday afternoon. The programme runs from 12:30 to 14:30.
