Gondola (12+)
A village in the Georgian mountains is connected by a cable car to a town in the valley. Conductor Nino trains the new employee Iva and after that they see each other every half hour, when their cabins cross. Over time, a special rapport develops between the two women that goes beyond mere collegiality.
The beautiful images are the dialogue in Gondola as not a word is spoken in this stunning feature film. Director Veit Helmer is a specialist in visual storytelling as with his previous films Tuvalu and Absurdistan. His latest film Gondola is a tribute to the power of (film) images.
