Beach Gang: Building Boats

On Wednesday afternoon 5 August in the holidays, Strandbende is on the programme at Strand Poort. Strandbende is a free Wednesday afternoon in the school holidays at Almeerderstrand. Children can play freely on the beach and take part in a creative workshop. A different creative workshop each time. Registration is not necessary. BSOs can register a week in advance via educatie@stadennatuur.nl, and we will check whether there is room.

5 August – Boat Building

Do you dream of becoming a captain? Using sticks, fabric, rope and all sorts of natural materials, you’ll make your very own boat. Give it a cool sail, a sturdy mast and a name fit for a real ship. Is your boat finished? Then the adventure really begins. After all, a boat has to be able to sail! Together, we’ll dig a water channel in the sand. With spades, buckets of water and a good dose of teamwork, we’ll create a channel where all the boats can be launched. Grab your spade, build your boat and set it sail on the homemade water channel.
